One Deep Breath-Simple Pleasures
I heartily endorse indulgence in life's simple pleasures, and the older I get, the more simple my pleasures seem to become! If I were to plan an entire day for myself filled with favorite little luxuries, this might describe it:
life’s little luxuries
a haiku series
small treasure of life
indulgence well deserved
refreshes the soul
weekly bookstore idyll
perusing shiny new tomes
book lovers delight
café awaits me
double espresso please ~
tiny cup of fuel
lunch with a friend
secrets shared heart to heart
afternoon delight
hot tea by the fire
dispels winter wind
warms body and soul
steam curls from the tub
wafting troubles away
relaxing long soak
day of small pleasures
renews my weary heart~
how lucky am I?

perfect, perfect, and may i say...perfect!
the idea...it's execution (in the "accomplishment" sense, NOT in the "beheading" sense)..it's imagery...sounds like a plan :-)
p.s. who will be the lunch friend? pick me! pick me!
very nice pleasures indeed!
These are fabulous simple pleasures! I loved how you opened and closed your series. Well deserved indeed ;)
mmm, these really are life's little treasures aren't they - lovely!
Such a great idea, a pleasurable list of simply pleasing haiku! I love every single one of them, love they way you wrote them, love the idea of doing them!
You have mastered "simple pleasures!" Congratulations!
It describes my day of small pleasures. Beautifully written. :)
simple pleasures are the lasting types . great poem !
Sounds like a wonderful day! Bookstores and libraries are two of my favourite places.
Each of these is a small treasure in itself, and together they make me sigh. Little bits of joy that come together to relax and rejuvenate.
When was the last time you indulged in some of these?
"day of small pleasures" I love that line. I just sat in the cafe at Wegmans with my notebook, pen, and coffee and was happily overcome by a feeling that small pleasures were piling one on top of the other on my head. It was just as your piece described. Lovely.
Terribly lucky. What a wonderful time.
Beautiful, on their own or in a package. Each haiku speaks of something so simple yet indulgent. I loved these!
Yes, these are nice! So neat to appreciate all the everyday pleasures.
Each of these sounds delicious.
I see Diedre used the word I was thinking as I read your scrumptious haiku - delicious! I love all of your simple pleasures, only I´d switch the coffee to tea. Wonderful!
Wonderful Becca! I can't add any to this great list!
ahhhhhhh. Sometimes I don't notice how much tension I'm carrying around until something (like reading your series) loosens the knots. Thanks.
Yes, I'll share a cup of coffee with you. double coffess coming up.
